A weekly Art Club for 5-11 year olds where they can learn new skills, explore using different types of art materials and create their own works of art. Meanwhile, their parents or carers can relax and enjoy a beverage in the pleasant surroundings of Papilio at Heritage in Thornbury, Bristol BS35 2AH who are kindly hosting the club.
The theme for term 1 of 2019/2020 is 'Feel good art'. The beginning of the new school year can sometimes be stressful for children (and their parents!) with returning to the routine after the long Summer holidays, getting used to new teachers and learning new things. So each session this term will aim to enable the children to relax and 'feel good' either about what they have created or the experience they had to achieve the end result.
The club isn't your average sitting down and all painting a nice picture of the same still life. They will a bit different and could involve mindfulness, colour exploration, crafting, natural materials, decoupage and other things if the mood takes us! The content of each session will be updated on the Facebook page @artforkidzthornbury each week.
The sessions will run each Saturday from 9-9.45am from 7th September to 19th October 2019.
The price is £5 per child and is pay as you go (cash on the day or BACs transfer before the session) or a block booking can be made at the beginning of each term (then you will get a session free!). Places are limited, so please reserve your place(s) by 9pm the Friday before the session by using the 'reserve now' button above and emailing details of the date(s) and the names of children you would like to attend.
Please note: parents/carers must remain on site at all times during the session. Unfortunately, no refunds can be offered unless the session is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
